Help:Contents

Some articles or images may be candidates for deletion if they do not meet Wiki standards or conform to wiki guidelines. Content may be deleted if it is vulgar or offensive, unrelated to FG's games (and their mods) and their development, or meets other criteria for deletion.

Criteria for Deletion

These lists are not exhaustive and common sense should be used.

Article Contents

These are guidelines for content that should be removed from articles. If necessary for the integrity of an article, it is heavily suggested to replace these with original content.

  • Any images that don't meet the Image use policy.
  • Anything which is not fair use. For example: copyrighted text that has been pasted or quoted without crediting the author.
  • Parts of the text which do not pertain to its topic. A frequent example is community tutorials which feature the author's opinion pieces and contact information.
  • Text fragments created to attack individuals, games, or companies.
  • Anything offensive or vulgar in nature.

Entire Articles

These are guidelines for articles that should be deleted altogether.

  • Articles which do not cover any aspect of development or any relevant games or mods. An article about someone's school or a random video game would fall into this category.
  • Articles which have been created for the sake of vandalism.
  • Copies of existing articles.
  • Articles made for purposes of self-promotion. User pages are an exception to this.
  • Articles which contain too little information to justify their existance, but don't qualify as stubs. This means that nothing substantial can be added to them. For example, narrow-scoped tutorials of practices already explained in broader terms elsewhere: "Using looping timers to replenish lantern oil".

Suggesting an Article for Deletion

Only Administrators can delete articles and files. Normal users must add a delete template tag to mark an article or file that might deserve deletion.

To mark an article for deletion, put the template along with your reason in the page's wikitext:

{{delete|It contains offensive content.}}

Result:

An administrator will review the content and determine if it should be deleted.
